New Volunteer Training Scheduled Sat, 28 Mar 2015 17:11:07 +0000 Read More

Have you considered volunteering with Baby Blues Connection?

We love volunteers that have a personal relationship with PPD/A – either a personal experience or  and experience of someone close to them. It’s not necessary, of course, but helpful. One can gain knowledge through our training, connections with the organization and at volunteer meetings. She (or he) would also be prepared to give a year to BBC and to expect 2-4 hours per week based on the task assigned.

Are you interested in learning more? We’d love to be in touch. Email angie at babybluesconnection dot org for more information. Join our community!

The next training is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th from 12-4.

Fifty Licks will be donating 10% of the total sales to Baby Blues Connection on Monday, April 13th.

The shop is located at 2021 SE Clinton St. You’ll find they have lots of rich ice cream in flavors both innovative and familiar. Everything is made “with a combination of old world techniques plus some modern tricks we’ve learned over the years”. All of their cones are gluten-free freshly made waffle cones. They have plenty of vegan flavors, in fact, our Coconut Lemon Saffron Sorbet is the flagship that they’re best known for.

Mark your calendars to stop by Fifty Licks on Monday, April 13th.

Homebirth Cesarean books now available Thu, 26 Mar 2015 17:56:24 +0000 Read More

There are two new books on the market which may be of interest to you.

Homebirth Cesarean

The term “homebirth cesarean” has only recently entered the birth world’s lexicon. Today the phrase, which refers to a planned out-of-hospital birth that ends in the hospital operating room, represents new understanding and healing pathways for mothers, families, and birth professionals.

“Homebirth Cesarean” aspires to bring deeper understanding to these unrecognized births, to celebrate the women and birth professionals transformed by them, and to give childbirth and postpartum professionals the tools they need to support families as they begin their parenting journeys.

Healing from a Homebirth Cesarean

This workbook is a trusted and ideal companion for HBC mothers no matter where they are in their journey or how recently they experienced their HBC. Over six chapters, HBC mothers chart their course of self-paced healing with simple practices, creative exercises, and meditations. A powerful and safe exploration into healing after a difficult birth, this is an essential guide for women seeking their identity as a birth warrior and mother.
