Join one of our upcoming events!

Were planning many events this year. We’re looking forward to connecting more with our community, and have designed events that are family focused, for the broader community and for our professional network. Take a look at the options and pick one or more!

Start your Mother’s Day Weekend off with We’ve Got Love to Spare which is this coming Saturday, 5/13/17. Held at Grand Central Restaurant and Bowling Lounge (808 SE Morrison St, Portland, OR 97214) this event features pizza + soda, bowling (but only if you want!), kids music with Mo Phillips (love that guy!) and face painting with the lovely Morgan Goldberg from Motion Magic. The best part here is it’s all for a great cause.  If you don’t like bowling, you can simply enjoy the raffle baskets, wine wall and kid friendly entertainment!  Tickets are priced with and without bowling. Get them here.
psst- It’s also recommended by NW Kids Magazine! We’ll see you there.
May is Mental Health Month and as an organization that support Maternal Mental Health, we’ve love for you to join us at Depressed Cake Shop Portland, next Friday 5/19/17. Depressed Cake Shop is a one-day, pop-up bakery held at The Little Church designed to raise awareness of mental illness through the sale of custom-made cakes, cookies, and other treats, all donated by local bakers. These special baked goods are often gray on the outside and colored on the inside, reminding people of the prevalence of emotional and psychological struggles: one in four of us will suffer from, or be touched by, a mental health issue in our lives. Check out the event here and pre-order your t-shirt before Wednesday, May 10th.
This is THE event for parents and other tired people. Join us for Skipping Bedtime, Sunday, 6/4/17 at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison St, Portland, OR 97214). One more opportunity to skip bedtime before the summer really hits! Welcoming back our super awesome buddy, DJ Paul Donald. Spinning an eclectic mix of fun-times guilty pleasures, new and old hip hop and taking requests! Skipping Bedtime is for all of us who feel that life has worn down us to a nubbin of a human, who feel like having fun for fun’s sake is too dang low on the list. Having a good time is good self-care. So tell ’em you love ’em and kiss those babies bye-bye. ‘Cause if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy and sometimes happy means shakin’ your rump while somebody else puts the babes to bed.
Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door.

Climb Out of the Darkness® is the world’s largest event raising awareness of maternal mental illnesses like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety and OCD, postpartum post-traumatic stress, postpartum psychosis, perinatal bipolar mood disorders, and pregnancy depression and anxiety. Our Climb Out of the Darkness Portland, will be 6/24/17, held at Powell Butte Park (16160 SE Powell Blvd, Portland, OR 97236). We’re partnering with Postpartum Support International. Click here to join us on Crowdrise and raise funds which will be split between both organizations. One doesn’t need to raise funds to participate. Join us on our Facebook page and let us know you’ll be coming.
The ninth and final weekend of a nine, west coast city tour Playing Monopoly with God and Other True Stories, is happening at The Old Church (1422 SW 11th Ave, Portland, OR 97201) on Friday, 8/4, Saturday, 8/5, and a Sunday matinee show on 8/6/17. Get tickets at this link. Melissa Bangs makes her way to the stage for three performances of hilarious & heart-wrenching nonfiction storytelling based on her own experience with postpartum psychosis. Join us for an evening of true stories full of bewilderment, chaos and hilarity. Bangs has a knack for telling true stories that cut to the bone of our shared, vulnerable human condition. Her true gift, however, comes in the moments in which she’s able to strip away the shame or agony of an experience and transform the room into an uproar of laughter. Watch the video trailer here. Read a review of the show here. Join the Facebook event here.

We’re confident that one or more of these fun and exciting events will peak your interest. We look forward to seeing you there!
